Onze zomer was werkelijk prachtig, met talrijke zonnige dagen en hoge temperaturen. We verwelkomden gasten uit diverse landen, vari\u00ebrend van familie tot gasten die via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airbnb.nl\/rooms\/901462550768455563?source_impression_id=p3_1699476127_0chB4ysmP5nt6RZF\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Airbnb<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.natuurhuisje.nl\/vakantiehuisje\/71217\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Natuurhuisje.nl<\/a> onze gite hadden geboekt.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Naast onze rol als gastheer en gastvrouw, waren we betrokken bij enkele grootschalige projecten, waarvan de bouw van een nieuw dak en de komst van twee paarden het meest opvallend waren.<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=&#8221;middle&#8221; column_spacing=&#8221;60&#8243; equal_height=&#8221;yes&#8221;][vc_column]<style>.vcex-heading.vcex_69e521f58dae4{color:var(--wpex-palette-68-color);}<\/style><h2 class=\"vcex-heading vcex-heading-plain vcex-module wpex-heading wpex-text-2xl wpex-h2 wpex-text-left vcex_69e521f58dae4\"><span class=\"vcex-heading-inner wpex-inline-block\">Het dak gaat erop<\/span><\/h2><div class=\"vcex-spacing wpex-w-100 wpex-clear\"><\/div>[vc_column_text]Zoals jullie wellicht weten is het huidige dak van de molen lek. Dusdanig lek dat deze snel vervangen dient te worden.<\/p>\n<p>In de vorige blog heb ik jullie verteld dat wij een nieuwe verdiepingsvloer in de molen hadden aangelegd. Dit hebben wij gedaan zodat wij makkelijker bij de het gebinte van het dak te kunnen komen. De vloer is nu veilig en wij kunnen er niet meer doorheen zakken. Hij heeft gedetailleerde tekeningen gemaakt voor zowel de zagerij als voor de dakbouwers.<\/p>\n<p>In juni zijn we begonnen met de daadwerkelijke bouw van het dak, en hieronder kun je de verschillende fasen zien, van de basis van het dak tot de bevestiging van de spanten en panlatten. Het was een intensieve klus die ongeveer zes weken in beslag nam, met werkdagen van vijf dagen per week, van &#8216;s ochtends vroeg tot 12.00 uur. Dan was het al minimaal 30 graden. Al je kleren waren drijfnat van het zweet. Na de middagmaaltijd en het vernieuwen van de kleding gingen wij meestal nog een uur of twee door. Bij ons huis in Frankrijk hebben we een paardenstal, een paardenbak en 2 hectare land. Nadat onze gite klaar was voor verhuur, ging Joop op zoek naar een paard. Tijdens haar zoektocht ontdekte ze dat een paard tegenwoordig niet alleen kan zijn, omdat het kuddedieren zijn. Op 5 juli was het eindelijk zover, Jolente en Leo werden gebracht.<\/p>\n<p>Maar voordat de paarden arriveerden, moesten we de omheining van de velden controleren en indien nodig repareren. De draden (2 kilometer) moesten opnieuw worden aangelegd en voorzien van schrikdraad. Ook moesten we looproutes voor de paarden cre\u00ebren, zodat ze vrij konden bewegen tussen de stal en de velden. Daarnaast legden we een voorraad hooi en stro aan, wat resulteerde in een uitbreiding van de schuur met 25 vierkante meter. Paarden hebben naast hooi ook andere voeding nodig, zoals brokken, luzerne, wortels, appels en slobber, dus ook daarvoor moesten we voorraad aanleggen. In de achterste velden installeerden we een weidepomp, en in het voorste veld plaatsten we grote waterbakken.<\/p>\n<p>Jolente en Leo zijn nu hier. Het was wennen voor de paarden maar ook voor ons. Jolente is eindelijk minder gestrest en Leo moet nog wat aankomen. We hebben ons moeten aanpassen aan een nieuw dagelijks ritme en ervoor moeten zorgen dat de paarden de benodigde zorg krijgen, zoals hoefsmid en tandartsbezoeken.
