On December 6, the new roof was placed over the old one and before you know it, it is already August. Our cottage was fully booked over the summer via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airbnb.nl\/rooms\/901462550768455563?source_impression_id=p3_1699476127_0chB4ysmP5nt6RZF\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Airbnb<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.natuurhuisje.nl\/vakantiehuisje\/71217\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Natuurhuisje.nl<\/a>: how much we enjoyed the nice guests and the beautiful weather. No, on it!<\/span><\/h2><div class=\"vcex-spacing wpex-w-100 wpex-clear\"><\/div>[vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]As you may have read in <a href=\"https:\/\/lemoulindavree.com\/en\/stories\/spring-has-begun-stories-about-february-april-2023\/\">this previous blog<\/a>, the mill&#8217;s current roof is leaking. Such a leak that it needs to be replaced quickly.<\/p>\n<p>On December 6, 7:30 in the morning, the big 10-ton crane pulled into our yard. After some discussion and positioning of the crane, the new roof hung in the ropes at 10:30. At 10:50, the new roof was in place. A big burden fell off us. A big compliment to Koos because he had everything figured out and without any significant problem the new roof slid over the old one. For the first time in 15 years, the building is now dry and work can begin to turn it into full-fledged housing. With the emphasis on the word started, of course the chores are not finished with just a new floor and roof. This part took us almost a year, but because of that we had a lot of time to dream about beautiful workshops we can give at this place, an expansion of the places to stay, and much more. No, not literally, we accommodated them at an equestrian center nearby. In the winter months the horses could not stand outside on our land. Because of the many rain showers, the land was so soggy that it became dangerous for them. They could only be in the horse trough. Also, the daily maintenance proved too labor intensive for us. Feeding for three hours every day, mucking out stalls + horse trough, providing new hay and straw and filling the water troughs. If you also have to work, renovate and run your daily household, it takes a lot of time.       <\/p>\n<p>We had to make choices. Since April of this year, they are now at an equestrian center in Luzy. Here they are very well cared for and Joop also gets riding lessons. In our opinion the site is clear, informative and the reader can immediately see if the gite is available in the period he\/she wishes to come.
